TIRAMISU (pronounced "tih-ruh-mee-SOO") was invented in the 1960's in Treviso, Italy. Tiramisu literally means "pick me up"or "carry me up" in Italian. It is often called an 'Italian Triffle' for having its layers too. Tiramisu is often made with ladyfingers (finger-shaped cookies or what we call here in the Philippines as Broas) layered with a custard mixed with mascarpone cheese, then garnished with cocoa powder and/or shaved chocolate and scattered raspberries (or any fruit in season) on top and then refrigerated for 6 hours or preferably over night.
For every New Year's Eve since 2006 I have been making my own version of the Refrigerated Cake for my family. This time I got to document my dessert masterpiece making with the help of my youngest brother Dong, who also served as my assistant. You only need a few ingredients in making this heavenly dessert, I often use the following (you can use any brand available in stores near you):
3 bags of M.Y. San Graham Crackers, 1 can of Jolly Peach Halves, 1 can of Del Monte Pineapple Chunks, 1 390grams Condensed Milk, 4 packs of Nestle All Purpose CreamYou can use different types of fruit in filling the layers of the Ref Cake, my family just really love peaches and pineapple. You also need a bowl and any type of rectangular/square container with a cover or a plastic wrap to layer the Tiramisu. Without further a do here are the simple steps for making my own version of Tiramisu.

STEP 1: Open and drain the juices for the peach and pineapple chunks then put aside the drained peach juice.
STEP 2: Thinly slice the peaches and pineapple.
STEP 3: Pour and mix the All Purpose Creme and Condensed Milk in the bowl. You can taste test the mix as you go along for your preferred sweetness.
STEP 4: Start layering. Dip the Graham Crackers in peach juice that was put aside earlier then align in the container. Pour a layer of creme & condensed milk mix to cover the crackers then put the peaches and pineapple slices over the mix. Repeat this step until the layers are near the top of the container. (I prefer to make a design out of the fruit slices at the top of the Ref Cake for a cuter effect)
TADA!!!
Here's the final product! I will admit, i'm not really the artistic type so my design looks like it was made by a 10 year old! I had the idea for this design because I was inspired by the movie 'Tangled' that we were watching the day before.

STEP 5: Refrigerate. Cover your container and refrigerate as long as possible, overnight is recommended.
